Introducing Tribhuvan University’s Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) Program

Tribhuvan University proudly launched its Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) program in the academic year 2074/75. In its inaugural phase, this program took root across six constituent campuses of Tribhuvan University, each offering 35 coveted seats.

Operated on a semester-based framework under the umbrella of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, the BCA program at Tribhuvan University is dedicated to cultivating proficient computer application users and developers. The comprehensive curriculum spans eight semesters, corresponding to a four-year academic journey. Commencing in both September and February annually, this program is conducted entirely in English, encompassing both instructional sessions and examinations.

Eligibility Requirements

Prospective candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria to be considered for admission:

  1. Graduation Year: Candidates who passed their qualifying examinations in or after 2079 B.S. are eligible.
  2. Academic Performance: A minimum grade of D in each subject of grade 11 and 12 is required, with a cumulative CGPA of 1.8 or higher. Alternatively, applicants should possess a minimum second division score in their 10+2, PCL, or equivalent, irrespective of their discipline. Students who have completed grade 11 and are awaiting their grade 12 results can also apply, provided that they submit all necessary documents upon admission.
  3. For those who passed their qualifying examinations before 2079 B.S., the criteria are as follows:

    • Minimum grade of D in each subject of grade 11 and 12, with a CGPA of 2.0 or higher.
    • A minimum second division score in 10+2, PCL, or an equivalent qualification, regardless of the chosen discipline.
